12 Days of Crafting: Hand sewn Christmas Cards -Day 2

These are so fun. I could do more and more and there are no limits besides the size of your paper. It takes about five minutes from start to finish. The one I'm making in this tutorials is the one on the far right. It is my favorite and so simple and sweet. i'm making one card for every couple in my family this year ( about 10).

 Supplies:
red pre-folded card
green scrap-booking paper
tacky glue( I didn't have any so I used liquid stitch)
black ribbon, thin
brown maker
sewing machine
paper clips

 1. Cut your green scrap booking paper into a Christmas tree triangle. Aline the top corner of your triangle to the center of the middle line on your card.
 2. Sew your tree cut out to the card leaving a 1/8 inch space from the edge of your paper.

 3. Draw your tree stump under your tree. I like to make mine long and skinny so you can see it from under the bow.
 4. Tie a small black bow for your tree trunk.
5. Add a small dab of glue.

 6. Add the bow to the between the tree and the trunk.

Here is a very cute birthday card using the same technique. I used aluminum foil to the bottom of the cup cake and small beads for sprinkles. The bow was very cute finishing touch. I can't wait to do Valentines Day cards. How do you like it.

  1. I love the green scrap booking paper you used for the Christmas card. It looks great! I'm going to try something similar this year. Thanks.
