These are soooooo ca-ute! These coasters are fun to make and look gorgeous. These are guest worthy but you might not want anyone to use them. These are a good beginner sewer project because they don't require a whole bunch of skill, you just need to know how to sew a straight line.
Supplies:
Fat quarter (gray)
Terry cloth or old wash cloth
Four inch square (card stock works best)
Navy lace (4 1/2 inches for each coaster)
Iron
Sewing machine
Grey thread
1. Cut out eight four inch squares from your fat quarter.
2. Iron a 1/2 inch down all the way around your squares
And then my camera died so you will have to put up with my boring paragraphs.
4. Pin your lace strip down before sewing the squares together.
5. Sew the square inside out leaving one side open. Flip the coaster right side out and iron the whole thing and don't forget to re iron you edge on the open side.
6. Slide your terry cloth in and smooth it out. With your edges turned in sew the open side and go all the way around to give it a finish seam.
Tadaaaaaa! You did it and wasn't fun and easy. I started out sewing coasters as my first solo projects when I was little. Of course now they look better and are worthy of use.
