Dreams of my Life
It is late, everyone is in bed and I sit on the love seat listening to the fire place crackle. If the t.v. in my sisters room wasn't blaring this moment would almost be perfect. A mug of hot chocolate warms my cold hands and I sit reminiscing about Christmas past. I love Christmas but in my head I always imagine it perfect in a different way than what my Christmases have been like. My childhood has been wonderful; I have two loving parents and have never gone hungry, in fact I believe that is all you need to have a happy childhood. I have a dream to one day have a small cottage that is romantic, vintage and farm girl style, it is far out and I live alone. I dream of my Christmases their with lots of snow. My Christmas tree is not big but short and covered with simple ornaments that are mainly silver and hints of bright cheery red.And all the greenery is really and smells deliciously of Christmas trees. There is a fire place with wee stockings for my nieces and nephews and on the mantel is more greenery with candles and a big painting of Santa Claus. In the oven is a batch of gingerbread (my favorite) and sugar cookies cool on the counter. Decorators bags full to the brim with snow white icing are ready to decorate cookies and cakes. My sewing machine sits on my dining room table with gifts ready to be made and already made. And my latest knitting project is tucked in the side cushions of the couch ready to be finished and given. On my desk is photographs laying out from Christmases past and I sit and think of all the joyful times I have had.
I will wrap my gifts in crisp white paper and twine without tape.On Christmas Eve in the morning I will dress in my winter coat and gloves with a hat and wellies and grab my basket of goodies. In this basket Will be all the yummies I made for all my friends and nieghbors and the gifts I have for everyone. I begin the walk. Since I live On the family farm I will visit everyone one at a time each time enjoying the visiting and well wishing's. I will then journey home where I will take my horse out for a long ride enjoying all the snow and beauty.
I guess that's a little ridiculous, to know exactly what it is you want and to think about even if it is a tiny bit unrealistic. I love Christmas and all it brings. Its joy and love that is like cookies and milk, so perfect and simple it can not be changed. Christmas is like that for me the way it is makes it makes it perfect and it shouldn't be changed. I like it simple, no need to complicate it but that is just me.

12 Days of Crafting: Christmas Collages - Day 9
So this is a good excuse for spending a little more time than you should on the computer. These are so simple and fun to make that you will find your self doing more and more. I used picnik.com to make mine. I want to do these for my grandmother she loves this kind of stuff. This is good for last minute gifts too because the don't need much time and you can print them right out.

12 Days of Crafting: Knitted Ear Muff - Day 8
Can you tell I like things for my head. Yes I love to put things on my
head, maybe it is the constant bad hair days and the pretty things
distract from the bad hair.Knitting is another thing I like to do to relax and it usually takes a long time for me to knit anything but this only took me two days.
Pattern: Cast on eighteen on size 12 needles. Knit two rows and then purl two rows and repeat till it fits around your head. I used embroidery thread to sew the ends together and It matches well with the yarn.
It is a week till Christmas and it was 70 degrees in Georgia. Urgggh! I really want a white Christmas again like last year. That is so wrong! Snow come PLEASE!

12 Days of Crafting: Yoga Headband - Day 7
(Sorry about the toilet in the background, Thats embarrassing.)
I love doing yoga. It is fun and relaxing and , I burn tons of calories without breaking a huge sweat. This head band is soft and holds back my hair without giving me a head ache or slipping around. This is a really easy craft that I made out of a yoga shirt I already had but the sleeves were to short.
Supplies:
Cotton stretch fabric or old work out shirt
Two hair ties
scissors
Sewing machine
1. Cut two strips of fabric that has about three inches spaces between at the nap of your neck.
2. Sew the longest sides together inside out and turn right sides back out
3. fold your two your hair ties in a eight shape so the are combined and cannot come apart like in the picture.
4. Fold your short end edges under for a hem and pin the part of your hair ties that is not twisted together like in the picture. Repeat on the other end.
5. TIPS: I don't recommend going over your longest side again on the outside because it gets ripley. Also your might want to make your short ends go down narrower so they stay neat behind your ears. Other than that it is very fun to make even for kids.

12 Days of Crafting: Ribbon headbands - Day 5
These are magically easy and may I say I am the queen of easy crafts. As I sit here I listen to my mom and aunt discuss crafts and the business they plan on starting I begin thinking That I inherited the genes. These are quick todo and are very use full. I need to use a hair pin at the back because they tend to slip around or you can put a piece of velcro to hold it in place but bobby pinning it works for me.
Supplies:
Ribbon
hair tie
sewing machine
2. Aline your hair tie where you marked it.
3. Sew across it very close to the tie over and over and over and over; you get the picture. Make sure it is secure so it won't fall apart while you are in the middle of doing something important like shopping.
(It should be this close to the hair tie.)
And you are finished. Didn't I tell ya it would be easy. these are very cute for little girls and moms too so you could really cut that gift list in half! Merry Christmas.

12 Days of Crafting: Serendipity Coasters - Day 3
These are soooooo ca-ute! These coasters are fun to make and look gorgeous. These are guest worthy but you might not want anyone to use them. These are a good beginner sewer project because they don't require a whole bunch of skill, you just need to know how to sew a straight line.
Supplies:
Fat quarter (gray)
Terry cloth or old wash cloth
Four inch square (card stock works best)
Navy lace (4 1/2 inches for each coaster)
Iron
Sewing machine
Grey thread
1. Cut out eight four inch squares from your fat quarter.
2. Iron a 1/2 inch down all the way around your squares
And then my camera died so you will have to put up with my boring paragraphs.
4. Pin your lace strip down before sewing the squares together.
5. Sew the square inside out leaving one side open. Flip the coaster right side out and iron the whole thing and don't forget to re iron you edge on the open side.
6. Slide your terry cloth in and smooth it out. With your edges turned in sew the open side and go all the way around to give it a finish seam.
Tadaaaaaa! You did it and wasn't fun and easy. I started out sewing coasters as my first solo projects when I was little. Of course now they look better and are worthy of use.
